How
to Make An Appointment With Dr. Brem
Regular
Annual Mammogram:
- Call
Poonam Arora 202-741-3038. Inquire about
Dr. Brem's schedule. Allow 3-4 weeks lead time for an annual mammogram
screening. Verify whether or not you need a pre-authorization
from your insurance company. Hospital based breast centers are
billed differently than independent centers.

From
your doctor, request a prescription for a mammogram.

Bring all old films AND a prescription from your doctor for
a mammogram.

Upon
arriving at GWU MFA building, inform the second receptionist that you are
Dr. Brem's patient.

Poonam Arora at 202-741-3038, or email her at poonam.arora@gwu-hospital.com. Explain
your situation and request an appointment with Dr. Brem ASAP.
Dr. Brem feels very strongly that women should not have to
wait when they are dealing with breast imaging problems and
should be seen within 24 hours, if at all possible. Dr. Brem
arrives at 7:30am in order to "fit in" such emergencies.
Understand, your appointment may be as early as 8:00am, before
the existing scheduled day begins.

all old films AND a prescription from your doctor for a diagnostic
mammogram, or, if you have scheduled a consultation bring your films and records.

Directions and Parking information:
The Mammography Center is on level DC of the Medical Faculty Associates building one block from GW Hospital. Ignore their mailing address, 2150 Pennsylvania Ave., when map questing. The Pennsylvania Ave. address deposits you on the wrong side of the building and away from the garage(s).
Use the entrance at the corner of 22nd St and I St. NW. If your map quest needs an exact address use 2141 I (Eye) Street N.W. (This is the address of the building immediately adjacent to the underground MFA Parking.) There is an additional parking lot between 23rd St and 22nd Street on I Street.
There is NO garage ticket validation. Cost is $11.00 per hour, with a $17.00 maximum paid by cash or check only, NO credit cards.
METRORAIL: The Mammography Center, in the Medical Faculty Associates Ambulatory Care Center, is located one block from the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station on the Blue and Orange lines. From the station, cross 23rd Street and follow "I" (Eye) Street one block to 22nd Street. Med. Faculty Assoc.- Ambulatory Care Center is on the far left corner of 22nd and "I" Streets,
